"Yoga is the union of the body and the breath"
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa flow yoga connects the body to the breath. Each movement is done on an inhale or an exhale, so that the poses flow from one to the next. The poses are linked together by sun salutations, which are used to warm up the body at the beginning of the class, and keep the body warm while moving into standing and seated poses.
An open class is suitable for all levels, enabling each student to explore the poses within the context of their own body, using modifications and options. The class is designed for those who are new to yoga, those returning to yoga and those with a regular practice.
The vinyasa flow styles helps those new to yoga to have a gentle, but thorough, overall body stretch, whilst introducing the poses.
For the more experienced, flow yoga keeps the body moving, lubricating the muscles, enabling the practitioner to deepen their practice.
Level 2 Class
Some experience of yoga, a reasonable level of fitness and core strength is required for this dynamic flow class.
Shanti ( शान्ति ) means peace, rest, calmness, tranquility, or bliss.
On Sundays we will offer slower and more gentle yoga practice.
Some weeks we will focus on a few postures, using props. Other weeks will be a gentle Hatha flow or a Yin yoga class. The classes will end with relaxation, meditation or Yoga Nidra, also known as Yogic sleep, that helps to draw energy into the body, preparing you for the week ahead.
Suitable for all yogis
